
Born and raised in the Bay Area, California, Mufti Rohullah Bayanzai shifted his early ambitions from a promising career in basketball to pursue deep religious studies. After memorizing the Qurʾān and beginning his Islamic studies in the Bay Area, he furthered his education abroad. Spending six years at Dār al-Ūloom Azaadville in South Africa, he completed an extensive curriculum in Islamic sciences, which included studies in Arabic grammar, Islamic jurisprudence, Qurʾān exegesis, and hadith. He also received advanced certification in issuing Islamic legal rulings within the Ḥanafī Madhab.
Currently residing in Union City, CA with his wife and three children, Mufti Rohullah serves as a resident scholar at Masjid Muhajireen teaching and conducting programs weekly.
